Your Coach

I'm Tyler Dieck. I recently wrapped twelve years in investment banking, progressing from the most junior role — summer analyst in 2013 — to director in 2023. I spent my entire time in IB on the same consumer industry coverage team in San Francisco.

As an industry coverage banker, my deal experience ran the spectrum of products: M&A (sell-side and buy-side, public company mergers), equity (four lead-left IPOs, multiple other IPOs, follow-ons, convertibles, ATMs) and debt (private credit and leveraged finance).

Along the way I devoted real energy to team development and analyst recruiting, and built a sense for what functional, effective team culture actually looks like.

My team came to me for many informal coaching conversations over the years. These were rewarding for me as a way to share what I've learned through the fires and peaks of investment banking.
